It has been nine days now since I've posted to my blog. A death in the family is hard to take, but life goes on. One person dies and another is born. As I think about my step-father and watching him take his last breath, my daughter-in-law is expected to give birth to a new member of the family.As we think about all those people in Japan and the earthquake and tsunami, we realize how fragile life just really is. No person is ever confident of what will happen next. For those of us who are Christians, we realize and have the knowledge that God is in control. We may not understand, but we have faith to believe that in the midst of all turmoil, there is an awareness that all is fitting into God's plan.
So, it's back to work. Yes, I did take time off to rest. My homebased business allowed me to do that. Had I been working a regular JOB, I would have had no other choice but to go back to work immediately if I expected to keep my JOB. Still, however, some think network marketing is like: sign up a lot of people and let them do all the work while you just sit there drawing a residual income check from the efforts of others. Maybe for a few fortunate people who just happened to sponsor the right people, this might be the case. Yes, as their residual income checks come in, they may be able to sleep late, go to expensive restaurants and have a high standard of living. My firm belief is that if they think that is what life is all about, they are wrong. Giving hope to people is not all about telling them that they can drive expensive cars and live in expensive houses surrounded by expensive things which may have no meaning. This is not my idea of what wealth really is. My idea of wealth is time freedom and freedom from financial worries, while at the same time helping others achieve the lifestyle of freedom they desire. Most people on my team with GBG have already been elevated to some type of financial level.
